Buildings
LOETB’s Buildings Department is responsible for a broad range of functions, including the administration and management of all capital and building projects, as well as overseeing relevant design teams and funding.
We work closely with key stakeholders, such as the Department of Education, the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment, SOLAS, the Board, school patrons and a wide range of professionals such as architects, quantity surveyors, engineers, and contractors.
We ensure that all necessary statutory approvals are secured and that every project complies with the Department of Education’s most up-to-date technical guidance, including Design Team procedures. Our main responsibility is the management of educational and training infrastructure whilst overseeing the design, procurement, and delivery of works & facilities.
In line with the Government’s Climate Action goals, we prioritise energy efficiency, sustainability, and environmental best practices across all aspects of our work. Our objective is to support the national target of achieving a 50% improvement in energy efficiency by 2030. To help realise this, we are actively working with the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI), ensuring that our projects align with best-in-class
standards for sustainable building design and performance.
