Abbeyleix FET Centre

Abbeyleix Further Education & Training Centre (FETC) promotes a learner-centred approach and provides for a friendly and supportive learning environment. Our staff are a committed and professional team and we strive for excellence in all areas.

All of our courses are free. PLC Learners may be eligible to apply for a SUSI grant or a Back to Education Allowance. Vocational Training Opportunities Scheme (VTOS) places are available for jobseekers and others getting certain social welfare payments on all full-time courses. Our free bus services Portarlington, Mountmellick, Portlaoise, Mountrath and Rathdowney

The centre offers a state of the art laboratory, a range of computer rooms, a suite of art studios, as well as our purpose built clinical skills lab in Rathdowney. The lab features a range of hospital grade training tools and equipment, providing our Nursing and Healthcare learners with simulating real-world clinical practice opportunities.

Together with our teaching staff, dedicated learner support and guidance teams are on hand to support learners throughout their time at Abbeyleix FETC.  We pride ourselves on the support we give to our students to help them in their personal development and their academic success.
